Oakville Elementary teacher Josh GrohJosh Groh, a third-grade teacher at Oakville Elementary School, has been named one of ten honorees for Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year for the St. Louis region. The distinction means that Groh is eligible to submit an application for Missouri State Teacher of the Year.

“I am extremely honored to be recognized as one of the St. Louis region’s teachers of the year,” said Groh. “This recognition is for each of our teachers, staff, parents and family members that make up our community.”

Groh has spent his entire 13-year teaching career at Oakville Elementary and has constantly worked to provide unique, memorable learning opportunities for his students. Groh has built meaningful relationships with students both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities like Girls on the Run and Garden Club.

“Mr. Groh’s impact for his students goes far beyond the content he teaches them in the classroom,” said Dr. Jeff Bresler, assistant superintendent - supervision of schools. “We are proud to have him represent our district as a Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year.”

Groh will be recognized at a ceremony later this month. He was named both the Oakville Elementary School and Mehlville School District Teacher of the Year earlier this spring.
