Our bus drivers are here to help

While our students are learning virtually, our bus drivers will still be transporting students back-and-forth to school for interventions with their teachers.
“Providing students with one-on-one time with their teachers is important to their success,” said Dr. Jeff Bresler, Assistant Superintendent, Supervision of Schools. “Until we can safely return to our buildings, this transportation service makes our in-person intervention times accessible to our families with transportation challenges.”
The buses are also being used to transport meals to families who don’t have the ability to travel to school to pick up free Grab-and-Go meals.
‘It’s very rewarding to make sure these kids receive their meals,” said Annette Kobermann, Mehlville School District bus driver. “If the parents need supplies delivered, we do that also.”
On Tuesday, school bus drivers delivered over 175 meals to district students.
“The staff is amazing,” said Bridgette Andrews, Trautwein Elementary School parent. “They’re lifesavers. We’re all in this together.”
If your family needs assistance with transportation for interventions, meals or supplies, please contact your child’s school.
Free meals are available through December
Mehlville School District has received a waiver from the USDA that will allow our School Food and Nutrition staff to serve free meals to all children 18 and under living in Mehlville School District through December.
Meal distribution is currently taking place Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at all of our schools. Students receive a meal for that day, as well as a breakfast for the following morning.
Please complete this form each week to allow our staff to prepare the appropriate number of meals.
