Candidate filing for two seats on the Board of Education begins Dec. 7

BOE candidate filingAny person wishing to file for the Mehlville School District Board of Education may do so in the Mehlville School District Administration Building, from Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, through Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021. 

From Tuesday, Dec. 7, through Wednesday, Dec. 22, filing hours will be between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The district office will be closed and no filings will be accepted Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, through Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, for winter break. The final day for filing will be Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, from 3 to 5 p.m. 

Except for the first and last day of filing, filings will be taken by appointment only. No filings will be accepted when the office is closed due to inclement weather or in the event of a closure due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

An election for two seats on the board will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022. The seats carry a three-year term. 

Under the provisions of Missouri Statute Section 115.124, if the number of candidates who file is equal to the number of positions to be filled by the election (two), no election will be held. However, if the number of candidates filing exceeds the number of positions, the annual school board election will be held on April 5, 2022.

Candidates must wear a face covering and observe district infection control rules in force at the time of filing.
