Mehlville High School

Water Testing Results: Mehlville High School

SCI collected 69 drinking water samples from various water fixtures located throughout the structure and submitted them for analytical testing. The water samples were analyzed for lead in accordance with the “Get the Lead Out of School Drinking Water Act,” Section 160.077, which establishes an action level of 5 parts per billion (ppb). The 5 ppb level required by the state is a stricter threshold than the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) recommended action level of 15 ppb.

The drinking water samples that exceeded the state's new action level are identified below.

Notes: Stairway 13 Slop Sink is used for cleaning by custodians only. There was confusion in our original notification about Mehlville High School drinking water. The drinking fountain near room 227 was not tested because it is out of operation. The drinking fountain near room 228 was taken out of operation Tuesday night (April 9, 2024) as it tested above 5 ppb. Our original notification has been updated.

The water fixtures listed above will be labeled not for drinking until the district’s facilities team can complete remediation and SCI completes retesting. This page will be updated as we make progress remediating fixtures.

See testing result report from SCI.
