Principal earns 'Consummate Professional' award

Lori SullivanLori Sullivan, principal of Bernard Middle School received the Consummate Professional award from the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals.

Sullivan received the award for her contributions to the school and the community, her leadership in improving student achievement, her impact on the school's positive climate, and her mentorship to new principals.

"She is a phenomenal mentor," said Lauren Cumming, assistant principal at Bernard Middle. "We are so excited for her to receive the award."

Gary Jansen, president of the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals surprised Sullivan with the award on Monday, Feb. 4.

Sullivan has been principal of Bernard Middle School since July 2012. She was assistant principal of Bernard for the three school years prior to that. Sullivan has announced she will retire at the end of the current school year.
