We're serving up extra meals at no cost for Thanksgiving break
Posted on 11/19/2020
Our School Food and Nutrition Services staff will be distributing extra meals for families for Thanksgiving break at Curbside Grab-and-Go meal pick-up on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Families with children 18 and under living in Mehlville School District can receive four days worth of free meals.
“We’re so excited to be able to provide additional meals for our families during the holiday break,” said Katie Gegg, Director of School Food and Nutrition Services. “Our cafeteria staff across the district have been working hard throughout the pandemic to safely make sure that our students are fed.”
On Tuesday, Grab-and-Go meal distribution is at Mehlville High School and Oakville High School from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Families should complete this form by the end of the day on Monday, Nov. 23 to receive additional meals the following day.
How we’re keeping students, staff and families safe
Our cafeteria staff have procedures in place to keep both students eating in the cafeteria and picking up meals through Grab-and-Go safe. Some of these procedures include wearing face coverings, prepackaged meal items and increased handwashing/changing of gloves.
