How Mehlville School District Communicates

Mehlville School District has a variety of ways of distributing information to our staff, students, families and community members. A multi-faceted approach to overall communications helps us ensure we are effective and efficient communicators. This list includes some of the common ways we communicate.

Websites
The public website is used to communicate district news, announcements, events and contact information. The website also contains Mehlville Board of Education meeting agendas and minutes, board policies and financial information and records. Additionally, the website houses the district’s curriculum, registration and enrollment information and other department information. School websites contain school handbooks and school contact information.

Email Newsletters
Mehlville School District offers several email lists that parents, students, staff and community members can subscribe to:

  • Board of Education: Alerts about upcoming meetings and notes from regular board meetings

Mehlville Messenger
The Mehlville Messenger is a print newsletter that is published four times a year and is mailed to Mehlville School District residents, businesses and families. The newsletter informs the community about important district news, student achievement, new programs and community involvement activities. Messenger continues to rank as a top source of information by residents in our community surveys.

ParentSquare
Mehlville School District uses ParentSquare for two-way translated communications with parents. Parents can choose to receive information via email, text or app notification. Learn more about ParentSquare. 

Parent Portal
Parent Portal allows parents to access information about your child, including grades, attendance and other information contained in our Student Information System. Learn more about Parent Portal. 

Social Media
Mehlville School District welcomes the opportunity to engage with parents and our community through the use of social media. Our pages are designed to celebrate our students, teachers, staff and community. We encourage dialogue that is open, honest and professional while being respectful of diverse viewpoints. PeachJar
Mehlville School District partners with PeachJar to distribute electronic flyers for parent organizations and community nonprofit groups. Paper flyers are no longer sent home with students in their backpacks. 

How we gather feedback
Mehlville School District has a variety of methods for obtaining feedback. We routinely conduct surveys using ThoughtExchange or SurveyMonkey. We use Panorama to gather feedback around social emotional learning and school culture. Residents are welcome to share their feedback with Mehlville School District by contacting the district at [email protected] or by calling 314-467-5000. Residents of Mehlville School District may also contact the Board of Education, participate in a Listening Session or provide public comment at a board meeting. Learn more.
