Nathan Perkins named Assistant Principal at Bierbaum Elementary

Nathan PerkinsThe Mehlville School District Board of Education unanimously voted to approve the hiring of Nathan Perkins as the assistant principal at Bierbaum Elementary School starting with the 2021-2022 school year.

Perkins is currently the school counselor at Bierbaum Elementary. This summer, he is serving as principal of the elementary Summer Session at Bierbaum. Perkins has worked in the Mehlville School District since 2016. Prior to coming to Mehlville, he worked as an elementary school counselor in the Farmington R-7 School District and as a special education teacher assistant in the Fox C-6 School District.

"As a counselor, Nathan has already played an integral role in developing many of the systems we already have in place at Bierbaum," said Dr. Paul Morris, principal at Bierbaum Elementary School. "As assistant principal, he will play an even greater role in ensuring that we are delivering top-tier instruction to our students. In addition to his strong knowledge of processes and systems, he has a love and passion for Bierbaum and this community that shows in everything that he does."
 
"I look forward to bringing the skills I have honed as a counselor and as an educator into the assistant principal role at Bierbaum Elementary," Perkins said. "I love our Bierbaum students, families and community! I'm looking forward to seeing the amazing ways that Bierbaum will continue to grow."

Perkins obtained both a bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in counseling psychology from Missouri Baptist University. He also received an education specialist degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia and a master's degree in school administration from McKendree University.

Perkins replaces Meagan Ochoa who accepted a position as the principal of Oakville Elementary School. He will begin serving as assistant principal on July 1, 2021.
