Dr. Gaines talks at Mehlville Listens meetingMehlville School District Superintendent Dr. Chris Gaines was honored with the Distinguished Service Award by AASA, The School Superintendents Association. 

According to AASA, the Distinguished Service Award is given to those who “bring honor on themselves, their colleagues and their profession; render exemplary service to their state or national professional association; and contribute to the education field through writing, public advocacy or other activities.” Dr. Gaines received the award during the AASA conference in February.

“Congratulations to Dr. Gaines for this well deserved award honoring his actions to improve education,” said Kevin Schartner, president of the Mehlville Board of Education. “His vision has led our district to provide more student education choices and to become an innovation leader in Missouri.”
 
Dr. Gaines has served AASA over the past 12 years as a member of the organization’s Governing Board, Executive Committee, and Officer.
