Superintendent's Note: October 2025

The Mehlville School District had an amazing start to the school year, and I cannot thank our staff, students and families enough. Whether it has been the Strategic Plan Steering Committee, the Facilities Steering Committee, our fall sports teams, or our amazing bands, choirs, and theater students, this has been a busy and exciting fall!

Full-day early childhood education

One thing we are most excited about this school year is our full-day pilot program for early childhood education at Bierbaum Elementary School. This pilot program not only gives us an opportunity to gauge interest from the community around early childhood services, but it has provided evidence that we could scale this opportunity across the district.

Strategic Plan Steering Committee

The district is currently working on its new strategic plan. The strategic plan will guide the educational and financial direction of the district for the next five years. The district has already hosted five meetings seeking feedback and discussing what is important for education from the lens of the community. We received community feedback regarding the themes of Academics on September 3; Student Support on September 17; Employee Quality and Staffing on September 24; Finance, Facilities and Operations on October 8; and Community Involvement on October 22. We are excited about what we have learned in these meetings and are working to incorporate community feedback into the strategic plan. Facilities Steering Committee

In addition to the strategic plan, we have also hosted two Facilities Steering Committee meetings to help gather input from our community regarding facilities and grounds. The committee is in the process of creating a student-centered plan for facilities projects the district should complete in the future.

As you can see, not only have we been busy with our students’ success on a daily basis in the classroom, but we have been incredibly busy planning for their future. We have an amazing community, amazing students, and amazing families, and I thank you for your dedication, belief and confidence in the Mehlville School District.
