Superintendent's Note: March 2026

Right before Winter Break, I had the pleasure of presenting the draft 2026-2031 Mehlville School District Strategic Plan to the Board of Education. This plan reflected almost a full year’s worth of collaboration among our staff, parents, students and the community. I am proud of the work that has gone into this draft, and I welcome you to review it and provide your feedback before the Board of Education votes on it in March. A strategic plan is critical for a school district because it provides a clear vision and roadmap for achieving long-term goals. It aligns stakeholders – students, staff, families and the community – around shared priorities, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to enhance student outcomes. By setting objectives and regularly reviewing progress, a strategic plan fosters accountability and adaptability, enabling the district to respond proactively to changes in education, funding and community needs.

I’d like to thank the more than 100 members of the Strategic Plan Steering Committee and the parents, students, staff and community members who provided feedback through our survey. This draft truly represents the desires of our community, and I am grateful to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts as we drafted the plan.

Great start to second semester

The second semester of the 2025-2026 school year is off to an amazing start. As I visited schools and classrooms in early January, I saw nothing but smiles and engaged and active learning. With all the interactions I have with students and our unbelievably dedicated employees, I am frequently reminded of what a wonderful school district we have.
