Preparing for winter weather and possible "snow days"

In the 2025-2026 school year, Mehlville School District can use up to five virtual learning days if our schools close due to snow or inclement weather.

On a virtual learning day, students are expected to check their email or Google Classroom by 9 a.m. to get their assignments or Google Meet information. Virtual instruction days do not need to be made up. If a virtual learning day is used, more information about schedules and expectations will be shared by your child’s teacher or principal.

The district may also use a limited number of traditional snow days without having to make them up at the end of the school year. For traditional snow days, there is no in-person school and no virtual learning.

On both virtual learning days and traditional snow days, all after-school and evening activities and events are canceled unless otherwise communicated. This includes Y Club, community education programs and facility rentals.

If the Mehlville School District uses a virtual learning day or traditional snow day, staff and parents will be notified via text, phone call and/or email through ParentSquare. Additionally, high school students will receive an email via ParentSquare. Snow days and virtual instruction days will also be announced through the district Facebook account and Instagram account, via our district website, mehlvilleschooldistrict.com, through local television stations and other media partners.
