Parent Speaker Series: Five Essential Life Skills
Every child’s journey is unique, but the playbook for success often relies on the same foundational skills. Whether your child is neurodivergent, gifted, or neurotypical, they are constantly navigating a world that demands high levels of independence and resilience.
Mehlville School District is honored to host guest speaker and author Emily Kircher-Morris for her keynote: The Parenting Playbook. The event is Tuesday, April 28, at 6 p.m. at Nottelmann Auditorium (Mehlville High School, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road)
While Kircher-Morris is a leading expert in supporting neurodivergent and twice-exceptional learners, this session is designed for every parent. She will break down the "big five" skills that serve as the engine for a child’s social, emotional and academic life. The "big five" skills are self-advocacy, emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication and motivation.
Drawing from neuroscience and her work as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Kircher-Morris helps families shift from crisis mode (just trying to get through the day) to connection mode. You will walk away with practical tools that grow confidence — not just in your kids, but in your own parenting.
