Oakville High School named a National School of Character
Oakville High School has been named a 2025 National School of Character. OHS is one of just 71 schools across the country to receive the honor and the only high school in Missouri to receive the honor in 2025.
OHS was selected for demonstrating a focus on character development that has positively impacted student achievement, student behavior and school climate.
“We believe in providing a welcoming learning environment for all students,” said Brian Brennan, OHS principal. “We are incredibly honored to have CharacterPlus recognize our ongoing efforts to provide a positive experience for our students and community.”
Founded in 1993, Character.org is a national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. It works with schools, families, workplaces and other communities to inspire, educate and empower people to be ethical and compassionate citizens.
OHS became eligible to be named a National School of Character after it was named a 2025 Missouri School of Character in February.
OHS was previously named a National School of Character in 2020, while Mehlville High School received the same honor in 2023 and holds the distinction until 2028.
