Mehlville High School and Oakville High School held their 2025 graduation ceremonies on Sunday, June 1, at Chaifetz Arena. Congratulations to the more than 850 students who received their diplomas!

Senior Spotlights

We spoke to 31 graduating seniors about their high school experiences in our Class of 2025 Senior Spotlights series. Some of these students will be attending four-year universities, while others are headed to community college, the military or entering the workforce. Each student shared how their experience in the Mehlville School District has prepared them for the next chapter of their lives. 

 

Natalie O'Brien

Natalie O’Brien, MHS

Natalie O'Brien has been involved in Student Council, National Honor Society and Senior Exec during her time at MHS. Natalie is attending Saint Louis University to study chemical biology and pharmacology, with future plans to attend either medical school or pharmacy school. 

“Mehlville provides a lot of classes that help students with their future plans. I would tell future students to really enjoy their time and take in every moment because it flies by.”


Colin Kesselring

Colin Kesselring, OHS

During his past two years at Oakville High School, Colin Kesselring has taken the automotive technology class through South Tech. He has learned valuable skills for working on both older and newer cars that he'll continue to use next year when he studies automotive technology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. 

“I went to South Tech to learn about working on cars because that’s what I’m going to college for. I had the opportunity to work on both old and new cars to start getting into that field.”


Amelia Wiesler

Amelia Weisler, OHS

While attending Oakville High School, Amelia Wiesler has been the catcher for the softball team, as well as a member of the Student Council, HOSA - Future Health Professionals and Future Business Leaders of America. Entering her senior year, Amelia was deciding between pursuing a career in nursing or accounting. While enrolled in the medicine, health care and bioscience strand of the St. Louis Centers for Advanced Professional Studies, Amelia realized she would prefer a career in business. After graduation, Amelia is attending East Central College where she'll pursue an associate's degree in accounting and play softball. She then plans to attend a four-year university to earn a bachelor's degree in economics or business.

“I didn’t realize how bad my professional skills were until I was quizzed about it. There were things that I was doing that I thought were professional, but it was the complete opposite. Going into being a business major, I better understand what to expect walking in.”


Allison Miller

Allison Miller, MHS

Allison Miller has been highly involved during her time at Mehlville High School. In addition to being a three-sport athlete (cross country, swimming and track), Allison is also the president of Student Council and is a member of Senior Exec, Konnect and National Honor Society. After graduation, Allison is attending the Naval Academy with plans to become a Surface Warfare Officer. 

“Mehlville has prepared me for the leadership side of the Naval Academy. Since I've been so involved, I was able to meet and learn to work with different types of people. It was great to get that experience before leaving for the academy.”


Michaiah Shores

Michaiah Shores, MHS

During her time at Mehlville High School, Michaiah Shores has been part of the track team and several clubs. Her favorite part of her high school has been the experience she gained in the medicine, health care and bioscience strand of the St. Louis Centers of Advanced Professional Studies. Through the program, Michaiah shadowed different departments of SSM Health St. Clare Hospital and had an internship in the family birthplace section. After graduation, Michaiah is attending the University of Missouri - Kansas City to study to become a women's health nurse practitioner.

“MHS and St. Louis CAPS have set me up for success. After gaining experience and talking to strangers, I’m much more confident speaking and interviewing. My internships provided me with experiences that not a lot of students get.”


Ashlyn Buschhorn, OHS

Ashlyn Buschhorn has been heavily involved with Family, Career and Community Leaders of America during her time at Oakville High School. Having served as an officer since her freshman year, she led the organization in many projects that have given back to the community. After graduation, Ashlyn is attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York to become a fashion designer. 

“OHS has prepared me by allowing me to take multiple fashion classes to provide me with a basic introduction to what I’ll be doing and learning the necessities of what I’ll need for it.”


Matt Kennedy

Matt Kennedy, OHS

Matt Kennedy has been passionate about performing arts since he was a kid and has been a member of the Oakville High School Theatre Company during his time at OHS. After graduating, Matt is attending Southeast Missouri State University to pursue an acting degree with plans to become a television and movie actor.

“My favorite part of my time at OHS was how nice everyone was. It’s a safe, welcoming environment.” 


Lindsey Roberts

Lindsey Roberts, MHS

At Mehlville High School, Lindsey Roberts has been a member of the cross country and track teams, Student Council, Senior Exec, HOSA - Future Health Professionals, National Honor Society and more. Lindsey loves meeting new people, and her favorite part of her time at MHS has been joining different clubs and activities to meet a diverse group of people. Following graduation, Lindsey is attending Truman State University to study nursing. She hopes to work in pediatrics or in the emergency room with the goal of becoming a flight nurse. 

“MHS has prepared me by allowing me to take a lot of AP and dual credit classes, giving me the opportunity to work with students who care a lot about their school work like me and helping me to grow through difficult classes.”


Caleb Sanneman

Caleb Sanneman, MHS

During his time at Mehlville High School, Caleb Sanneman has been a member of the baseball team and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), where he competed at the state level this year. Through St. Louis Centers for Advanced Professional Studies, Caleb had the opportunity to make professional contacts in the field he plans to enter following college. After graduation, Caleb is attending Missouri Baptist University to study sports management or business administration and play on the baseball team. He hopes to one day work in the front office of a professional sports team.

“St. Louis CAPS is the best thing I’ve done in high school. It’s really helped me to prepare for the future by making connections with professionals in the field I’m going into. It’s something I’m grateful for doing.”


Alex Alonzo

Alex Alonzo, OHS

Alex Alonzo's favorite part of his time at Oakville High School has been the four years he spent in the band program. After graduation, Alex is attending Missouri S&T to study ceramic engineering. 

“I think OHS has prepared me because there’s a big, diverse amount of classes that I was able to take. That’s going to help me when I take the classes in college that I want to take.”

 


Josh Williams

Josh Williams, OHS

During this time at Oakville High School, Josh Williams has been a member of the football, basketball and track teams, as well as the Black Student Union. After graduation, Josh is attending Missouri State University where he plans to study mechanical engineering and walk on to the football team. 

“I think OHS prepared me pretty well. It made me consider different opportunities. Being in the athletic atmosphere brought out my outgoingness.” 

 


Jaysen Cook

Jaysen Cook, MHS

Jaysen Cook's favorite part of his time at Mehlville High School has been the classes he's taken, especially P.E. and English language arts. After graduation, Jaysen is participating in the Vocational Skills Program through the Special School District of St. Louis County, where he'll get on-the-job training with one of the program's partners. He says the experience he's gained working at the South County YMCA through his Community-Based Vocational Instruction class has prepared him for his next chapter.

“My advice to other students is to get good grades, be respectful to your friends and teachers and to have a good, positive mindset.”


Simon Mouv

Simon Mouv, MHS

If you've attended Mehlville High School events over the past few years, you've likely seen Simon Mouv covering them for the yearbook or Mehlville Media. After graduation, Simon is attending Webster University to study journalism and photography. 

“Being in yearbook for three years and media for two has been a great experience, and I can use that experience to take it to a whole new level in college."


Kolton Kreisz

Kolton Kreisz, OHS

During his time at Oakville High School, Kolton Kreisz has been a member of the tennis and cross country teams and serves as the president of the National Honor Society. He's also in the MyPath program where he's studied the emissions of different fuel sources in a small internal combustion engine. Following graduation, Kolton is attending Missouri S&T to study nuclear engineering.

“OHS got me ready because good teachers here helped to prepare for college-level courses.”


Theo Long

Theo Long, OHS

While at Oakville High School, Theo Long has been involved in FCA, DECA and FBLA. In July, Theo will head to U.S. Army basic training at Fort Leonard Wood. After training, he'll be doing geospatial engineering, looking at satellite images to determine the best locations for things like bases and roads. 

“OHS helped me out a lot with preparing for the ASVAB test to be able to get this job in the Army that is so high-ranked.”

 


Lucy Ledbetter

Lucy Ledbetter, MHS

Lucy Ledbetter's favorite part of her time at Mehlville High School has been playing soccer because of the time she's gotten to spend with her teammates and coaches. She'll continue competing on the soccer field next year when she attends Arkansas State University to study to be a labor and delivery nurse. 

“I’ve gotten to take a lot of AP and honors classes. Doing difficult work has helped me to learn time management and pushed me to do hard things.” 

 


Triston Cochran

Triston Cochran, MHS

During his time at Mehlville High School, Triston Cochran has been involved in the theatre program and Panthers on the Go, a marathon training club. For the past two years, Triston has taken classes at St. Louis Community College through the Early College Academy. Following graduation, Triston is attending the University of Missouri to study both nutrition and film studies.

“I found that a lot of the courses I took in Early College Academy were actually easier than those in high school. The teachers at MHS taught me study habits and prepared me to be a successful college student.”


Tylee Norris

Tylee Norris, OHS

Tylee Norris has been involved in Leadership, Student Council, Family Career and Consumer Leaders of America and the track team while at Oakville High School, and also reigned as the school's Homecoming Queen. Her favorite parts of high school have been making friends, the interesting classes she's taken and the relationships she's built with her teachers. After graduation, Tylee is attending Culver-Stockton College to study nursing and play on the volleyball team. She hopes to one day be a family nurse practitioner.

“My best advice for other students is to try new things and to not be afraid to stand out.”


Jenna Jabr

Jenna Jabr, OHS

While attending Oakville High School, Jenna Jabr has served as the president of the International Club and Soup Kitchen Club, the community outreach officer of Family Career and Community Leaders of America, the secretary of the National Art Honor Society and a student advisor to the Mehlville Board of Education. Her favorite part of her high school experience has been planning the Mehlville-Oakville International Festival to allow the district's students to celebrate and share their cultures with others. Jenna has also spent the past two years attending St. Louis Community College through the Early College Academy and will be graduating with both a high school diploma and an associate's degree. Next, Jenna will attend Maryville University to study communication sciences and disorders. She hopes to become a pediatric speech pathologist who primarily works with bilingual children.

“Oakville has become more than just a school for me. It’s a place where I’ve grown, found my voice and learned the value of working towards something bigger than myself. I really appreciate all of the opportunities I’ve had here.” 


Morgan Ulrich

Morgan Ulrich, MHS

Morgan Ulrich has been a three-sport athlete at Mehlville High School, playing softball, soccer and swimming. She's also been involved in HOSA - Future Health Professionals, Konnect, A+ Tutoring and the Special Olympics Steering Committee. Through the St. Louis Centers of Advanced Professional Studies, Morgan had the opportunity to observe and job shadow health professionals in hospital settings. That experience will come in handy next year when Morgan attends Stephens College to study nursing and play softball. She hopes to one day be an emergency department nurse.

“MHS and St. Louis CAPS have helped to prepare me for my future because of the opportunity to see what it’s actually like to work in the hospital setting to make sure it’s what I want to do.”


Nathan Seyer

Nathan Seyer, OHS

During the past two years, Nathan Seyer has taken the engineering, technology design and development course through the St. Louis Centers for Advanced Professional Studies. He's completed three internships through the course: with the Special School District of St. Louis County, Wilson Manufacturing and Essex Industries. Nathan believes that experience will put him ahead of his classmates when he starts at Missouri S&T, where he plans to study electrical engineering.

“I’ve had the opportunity to do client projects where we work with the business where they give us certain parameters that they want out of a product, and we have to be able to come up with a design to solve whatever problem they’re having.”


Tyler Ivinson

Tyler Ivinson, OHS

Tyler Ivinson, affectionately called “Tiny” by his classmates at Oakville High School, is known for the GIANT hugs he gives around the school. His favorite parts of school are running the coffee cart and his teacher Mr. Kyle Bryant, who Tyler says is like his big brother. You may have also seen Tyler at the South County Family YMCA where he’s been learning job skills through his Community-Based Vocational Instruction Class. After graduation, Tyler will start working at Maritz through SSD’s Vocational Skills Program. 

“I love Oakville and Mr. Kyle. He’s cool. He’s funny. He’s my big brother.”


Lara Kareem

Lara Kareem, MHS

Lara Kareem's favorite parts of her high school experience have been attending international festivals with her friends and expressing herself in art classes. For the past two years, Lara has taken all of her courses at St. Louis Community College through the Early College Academy. She is graduating high school with both a high school diploma and an associate's degree from STLCC. Next, she plans to attend a four-year university to study business administration. 

“Because you take full-time classes in the Early College Academy, you see the college environment, and you already know how to talk to advisors, how to set up a class schedule and how to transfer credits.”


Ian Brown

Ian Brown, MHS

Ian Brown's favorite parts of his time at Mehlville High School are the memories he's made in four years in the band program. After graduation, Ian is attending St. Louis Community College for the culinary arts program, with plans to become a chef.

“I’ve taken every foods class you can take at Mehlville, and I’ve done whatever I could to gain more knowledge about culinary arts.”

 


Kenzie Christopher

Kenzie Christopher, OHS

Kenzie Christopher explored interests in many different areas during her time at Oakville High School. In addition to being a member of the choir and cheer teams for four years, she’s also played basketball and lacrosse, performed in a musical and been in the National Honor Society and Current Events Club. After graduation, Kenzie is attending Ole Miss to study pre-law and psychology, with plans to become a lawyer. 

“Every student here has a teacher that’s helped them. For me, my choir teachers have been like second parents to me.  They’ve helped me through everything.” 


Jack Werkowitch

Jack Werkowitch, OHS

During his time at Oakville High School, Jack Werkowitch has been a member of the baseball team, DECA and Future Business Leaders of America. During his senior year, Jack also attended the St. Louis Centers for Advanced Professional Studies in the global business and entrepreneurship strand. That experience will come in handy next year when Jack studies international business at Lindenwood University, where he'll also play baseball. 

“With the teachers, it’s not just a great academic environment. I’ve built a lot of great relationships with them. It doesn’t feel like they’re just teaching you. They’ve helped me personally, whether it be in my career or with things at home. They’ve helped me to keep pushing and keep moving forward.”


Alec Watson

Alec Watson, MHS

After graduating from Mehlville High School, Alec Watson is attending Missouri State University to study business. He is pursuing a career in real estate and is already working on his real estate license. During his senior year, Alec participated in MyPath, a program that allows students who have exhausted course offerings in their area of interest to design their own course. Alec used his MyPath to intern at RE/MAX, where he worked with realtors to learn more about the real estate industry. 

“MHS has prepared me because I know there are going to be problems along the way that I have to deal with. That doesn’t mean that I have to stop. There are always ways around it.”


Vivian and Dominic Ramos

Vivian and Dominic Ramos, MHS

While attending Mehlville High School, Vivan Ramos has been in cheer, track, Konnect, A+ Tutoring, National Honor Society, Junior Exec, Senior Exec and Key Club. Dominic Ramos, meanwhile, has been in cross country, wrestling, marching band, track, NHS, Student Council, Konnect, A+ Tutoring, Junior Exec and Senior Exec. After graduation, Vivian is attending Mizzou, while Dominic will attend Oklahoma State University to study aerospace engineering.

 


Joe Kister

Joe Kister, OHS

While attending Oakville High School, Joe Kister has competed on the wrestling, water polo and swim teams. His favorite part of his high school experience has been attending the HVAC course at South Tech High School. After graduation, Joe is attending Ranken Technical College to earn his HVAC certification.

“I liked doing something different than a normal high school student and having the opportunity to learn by doing.”
