Mehlville School District’s Teacher of the Year ensures all students feel supported
Emily Glastetter, a science teacher at Oakville High School, was named the Mehlville School District Teacher of the Year at the district’s Recognition Night ceremony on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Glastetter is in her second year as a biology teacher at OHS. She previously taught science at Bernard Middle School.

“Ms. Glastetter does everything she can to make sure all of her students are successful,” said Brian Brennan, Oakville High School Principal. “She also works hard to support the rest of her team.”
Glastetter has a deep expertise in teaching biology. She’s known for ensuring her classroom activities are engaging and meaningful to students. She’s also a leader in using student assessment data to identify students who are struggling. This allows her to provide those students with extra support to ensure their success.
“In our hallways, she is a ‘teacher’s teacher,’ the person colleagues go to when they need a fresh idea of a collaborative partner to look at student data,” said Emilee Madlinger, Assistant Principal at Oakville High School.
Glastetter’s students are thankful for the support she provides them.
“She’s very helpful, and you can tell that she really cares,” said Selena, an Oakville High School student. “Her lessons are filled with fun, and you learn from them, too.”
Glastetter will represent the Mehlville School District in the state teacher of the year selection process.
“I have always wanted to be a biology teacher, and I love being able to work with the students and share a passion of mine,” said Glastetter. “I feel like my strength comes from learning from my colleagues in order to improve what I’m doing.”
