Board of Education approves the hiring of new administrators

The Mehlville Board of Education recently approved the following new administrators for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Dr. Dana Skrabacz, Principal at Oakville High School
  • Michael Mancuso, Assistant Principal at Oakville High School
  • Erin Rendon, Assistant Principal at Bierbaum Elementary School
  • Dr. Kara Moore, Math Director
  • Scott McMullen, Assistant Principal at Forder Elementary School and Trautwein Elementary School

Dr. Dana Skrabacz
Principal at Oakville High School

Dr. Dana Skrabacz has served as an Assistant Principal at Oakville High School since the 2022-2023 school year. She previously worked for 10 years as a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair at Hancock Place High School. Prior to that, she taught social studies in the Cape Girardeau Public School District.

“Dr. Skrabacz instantly became an important part of the Oakville High School community when she arrived on campus in 2022,” said Dr. Jeff Haug, Superintendent of Schools. “Her passion for OHS and service to students and staff make her the perfect person to lead OHS into its next chapter.”

Dr. Skrabacz has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Master of Arts in Secondary School Administration from Southeast Missouri State University and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.

“I am honored to transition into this new role and continue serving the dedicated OHS community,” Dr. Skrabacz said. “I look forward to deepening my support of students and staff and fostering an environment where every Tiger is empowered to reach their full potential and achieve lasting success.”

Dr. Skrabacz will begin serving as Principal on July 1, 2026.  She replaces Brian Brennan, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Michael Mancuso
Assistant Principal at Oakville High School

Michael Mancuso has served as a Math Teacher at Valley Park High School since 2020. He has previous experience as a Math Teacher at the Grand Center Arts Academy and Construction Careers Center.

“Mr. Mancuso is a team player with a strong instructional background that will support teachers in providing the best possible education for Oakville High School students,” Dr. Haug said.

Mancuso has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education - Mathematics and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Southeast Missouri State University.

“Through my interactions with the Oakville High School staff and administrative team during the interview process, I could tell that OHS is a special place filled with passionate educators deeply committed to student success,” Mancuso said. “I look forward to building relationships with students, staff and families and becoming part of the OHS community.”

Mancuso will begin serving as Assistant Principal on July 1, 2026.

Erin Rendon
Assistant Principal at Bierbaum Elementary School

Erin Rendon has served as an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher at McKelvey Elementary School in the Parkway School District since 2018. She also worked in Bayless School District from 2003 to 2018, serving as an ESOL Teacher, Fourth-Grade Teacher, Sixth-Grade English Language Arts Teacher and Substitute Teacher.

“Ms. Rendon has spent much of her career assisting students and families who are learning English as a second language,” Dr. Haug said. “That extensive experience will help her serve the diverse community at Bierbaum Elementary School at a high level.”

Rendon has a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Louis University. She also has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lindenwood University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University.

“I look forward to building strong relationships with students, families and staff at Bierbaum, and working together to foster an inclusive environment where every child feels they belong,” said Rendon. “It is an honor to join the Bierbaum Buffalo family.”

Rendon will begin serving as Assistant Principal on July 1, 2026. She replaces Julie Dooley, who will serve as the Principal of Wohlwend Elementary School starting July 1.

Dr. Kara Moore
Math Director

Dr. Kara Moore has served as a Math Specialist in the Ladue School District since 2022. She also previously worked as a Second-Grade Teacher and Fifth-Grade Teacher at Fairway Elementary School in the Rockwood School District.

“Over the past few years, the Mehlville School District has seen large improvements in math scores across almost all grade levels,” Dr. Haug said. “Dr. Moore’s expertise in mathematics will help to support our teachers in bringing our students even more success.”

Dr. Moore has a Bachelor of Music from Truman State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University, an Elementary Math Specialist Certification from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and a Doctor of Education in Teacher Leadership from Maryville University.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team of Mehlville School District educators, where innovation and growth are the hallmarks of student success,” said Dr. Moore. “We will continue to champion curiosity in our K-12 math classrooms through novel problems and multiple representations that foster resilience, creativity and collaboration for our graduates.”

Dr. Moore will begin serving as Math Director on July 1, 2026.

Scott McMullen
Assistant Principal at Forder Elementary School and Trautwein Elementary School

Scott McMullen currently serves as the leader of SCOPE. For the 2026-2027 school year, he will serve as Assistant Principal of Forder Elementary School and Trautwein Elementary School.

“Mr. McMullen has demonstrated a remarkable ability to establish positive relationships with his students,” Dr. Haug said. “His background in elementary education and his continued commitment to the whole child make us incredibly excited that he will impact the lives of elementary students.”

Mr. McMullen has served at SCOPE since 2017. Prior to that, he led the Central Academy in Cape Girardeau. He has also taught at the middle school and elementary school levels. He has a specialist degree in educational leadership from Southeast Missouri State University, a master’s degree in school administration from William Woods University, and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood, elementary and special education from Southeast Missouri State University.
