Board of Education approves the hiring of Director of Mehlville Early Childhood

At its February 19, 2026, meeting, the Mehlville Board of Education approved the hiring of Erin Amador as the Director of Mehlville Early Childhood for the 2026-2027 school year.
Amador has served as Parents as Teacher and Early Childhood Coordinator for the past 5 years. She previously worked as an early childhood special education teacher at John Cary Early Childhood Center.
“Mrs. Amador has a record of improving access to Parents as Teachers and early childhood services in our district,” said Dr. Jeff Haug, Superintendent of Schools. “Along the way, she’s built impactful relationships with families and community partners. I’m looking forward to seeing her lead Mehlville Ea rly Childhood in this new role.”
Amador earned an Educational Specialist in School Administration from Lindenwood University, a Master of Science in Education Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Science in Teacher Leadership from Southwest Baptist University. Amador earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Fontbonne University.
“I am beyond thrilled to serve the Mehlville community in this new capacity as Early Childhood Director,” Amador said. “My journey here has been full of so many powerful experiences, allowing me to understand our program from the ground up – from sitting on living room floors with families during home visits and screening our youngest learners, to teaching at John Cary and serving as Coordinator. My goal is to translate these years of partnership and internal insight into a vision that takes Mehlville Early Childhood to the next level. I am honored to continue collaborating with our incredible team of educators and families as we work together to ensure every child in our community receives a truly strong start.”
Amador will start serving in this new role on July 1, 2026. She replaces Dr. Tiffany Schwaegel, who will serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services for Mehlville School District starting in July.
