Board of Education approves the hiring of two administrators

The Mehlville Board of Education recently approved the following new administrators:

  • Cole Jost, Assistant Principal at Oakville High School
  • Steve Branstetter, Director of Facilities

Cole Jost has taught in the Lincoln County R-III School District for the past three years. He taught social studies at Troy Buchanan High School and Troy South Middle School and coached boys and girls soccer. Prior to that, Jost taught social studies at New Bloomfield Middle School in New Bloomfield, Missouri.

“Mr. Jost is a tremendous educator who has experience leading Professional Learning Communities and implementing social-emotional learning curriculum with fidelity,” Dr. Haug said. “His positive energy and commitment to high student achievement will make him a valued member of the Oakville High School administrative team.”

Jost has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Masters in Education Leadership from William Woods University.

“I am really excited to be part of the Mehlville School District and work for Oakville High School,” Jost said. “I’ve heard nothing but positive things about Oakville High. This is my first opportunity to serve as an assistant principal, and I’m excited to meet the staff, students and the community.”

Jost will begin serving as Assistant Principal on July 1, 2026.  He replaces Dr. Dana Skrabacz, who was promoted to Principal at Oakville High School.

Steve Branstetter currently works in Operations and Maintenance for the St. Charles County Highway Department. He previously worked as a Realty Specialist/Branch Chief for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and served as Pavements and Engineering Equipment Supervisor for the Missouri Air National Guard.

“Mr. Branstetter has more than two decades of experience managing construction projects, dating back to his time working for the Missouri Air National Guard,” Dr. Haug said. “He’ll use this knowledge to plan and prioritize projects that best support our students, staff and community.”

Branstetter has an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technology from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lindenwood University.

“I am truly excited and honored to join the Mehlville School District facilities team,” Branstetter said. “I look forward to supporting both academics and athletics and continuing to maintain and create environments where students and staff can succeed everyday.”

Branstetter will begin serving the Mehlville School District on June 1, 2026, working through a transition period with Mike Gegg, the current Director of Facilities for the Mehlville School District.
