By Dr. Jeff Haug, Superintendent of Schools
I love the heading in the article by our Board President Peggy Hassler, “A commitment to transparency.” She brings to light Mehlville School District’s commitment to transparency in our operations, curriculum and finances. In addition to the district’s dedication to being strong financial stewards for the community, we have a continued commitment to providing the best education for our students.
The education of our students is absolutely a shared commitment.
It is a shared commitment between all employees of the district as well as the families who support us everyday. If you view our website, attend any of the numerous events throughout the district, or watch a Board of Education meeting, you will see that we always celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing students and staff.
We are thrilled to see our hard work begin to pay off, as evidenced by growth in our Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) scores, and a strong improvement in our Annual Performance Report score. Mehlville School District placed in the top 5 percent of school districts in the state this year. We are incredibly proud of our teachers and staff and our students. You can learn more about our academic achievement on page 6 of this edition of Mehlville Messenger.
Tell us what’s most important to you
We continue to seek that shared commitment with our community. We are beginning to draft the next version of our strategic plan and are asking for input and participation. We want the families of this great district to have a voice in the education their children receive. Please visit our website for more information at bit.ly/msdr9strategicplan26.
I am very proud of our students, staff and families and am honored to be a part of the Mehlville School District.
