We'd Like Your Feedback!

A Middle School Schedule Steering Committee was formed last school year to research and provide feedback in the development of a new middle school schedule that is anchored in the values of student achievement, providing a structure that allows for increased instructional time, advanced pathways and expanded options, and personalization for students.

Any changes to the middle school schedule would be implemented in the 2025-2026 school year.

To date, the committee has reviewed feedback our community provided from a ThoughtExchange in the spring of 2024 and in-person feedback sessions. The committee heard that teachers and parents wanted greater instructional time, including intervention and enrichment time, and opportunities for collaboration and personalized learning. The committee studied other middle school schedules that have been used with success.

After reviewing several schedule options, the committee is interested in hearing your thoughts on a 7-period day, allowing for one ELA period and two elective courses. The schedule allows for almost 30 more minutes a week for all courses except for English language arts. You can review the schedule below, and compare it to the current 2024-2025 middle school schedule.

Please use this ThoughtExchange to share any questions you have or any general thoughts you have on the draft 7-period schedule.

The committee will review the results from this ThoughtExchange during their meeting this fall. They will use your thoughts to provide their final feedback in the development of the middle school schedule to be implemented in the 2025-2026 school year.
