Administrators hired at the April 10, 2025, Board of Education meetingAt their April 10 meeting, the Mehlville Board of Education approved the hiring of four new administrators:

- Dr. Samantha Gatzemeyer, Principal of Hagemann Elementary School
- Roseann Bruns, Principal of Mehlville High School
- Julie Dooley, Assistant Principal of Bierbaum Elementary School
- Tyson Sigette, Director of Technology Services

Principal of Hagemann Elementary School

Dr. Samantha Gatzemeyer currently serves as the assistant principal at both Blades Elementary School and Hagemann Elementary School. She previously taught in Lindbergh School District for 13 years, working most recently as a third-grade teacher at Dressel Elementary School.

“Dr. Gatzemeyer has done a tremendous job of building relationships with students, staff and families at both Blades and Hagemann,” said Dr. Haug. “Her love of supporting students and staff and her high expectations for academic achievement make her an exceptional leader for Hagemann.”

Dr. Gatzemeyer has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Assessment from the University of Missouri - Columbia. She also earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.

“This year, I have gained invaluable experience and a profound appreciation for the unique strengths and character of this school community,” said Dr. Gatzemeyer. “I am excited to have the opportunity to continue building positive relationships and fostering an enriching and successful learning environment for all of Hagemann’s children.”

Dr. Gatzemeyer will begin serving in her new role on July 1, 2025. She replaces Dr. Julie Durham who will serve as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education starting July 1.

Roseann BrunsRoseann Bruns
Principal of Mehlville High School

Roseann Bruns currently serves as the principal of Jackson Senior High School in Jackson, Mo. She has also served as an assistant principal and as a math and science teacher.

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Bruns and her 25 years of experience in education to the Mehlville School District,” said Dr. Jeff Haug, Superintendent of Schools. “It is clear that Mrs. Bruns is incredibly student-centered in her leadership. Additionally, she believes in strong collaboration with teachers and support staff. Her leadership and dedication to supporting students and staff both inside and outside of the classroom will ensure that Mehlville High School continues to thrive.”

Bruns has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and secondary education of mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree in secondary administration from William Woods University.

“During the interview process, I loved hearing the pride that students and staff have for their school,” said Bruns. “I’m excited to bring my experience in the classroom and in administration to MHS and to start a new chapter together.”

Bruns will begin serving in her new role on July 1, 2025. She replaces Dr. Jason Landherr who will serve as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education starting July 1.

Julie DooleyJulie Dooley
Assistant Principal of Bierbaum Elementary School

Julie Dooley has worked as an educator in the Mehlville School District since 2010 and is currently a math interventionist at Hagemann Elementary School, where she also serves on the school’s Building Leadership Team.

“During her time as an educator in Mehlville School District, Ms. Dooley has consistently demonstrated a student-centered approach that has resulted in high achievement for her students,” said Dr. Haug. “She is generous with her time with students and is well-respected both at Hagemann and throughout the district. She will be a tremendous asset for Bierbaum Elementary.”

Dooley has a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Teacher Leadership from Southwest Baptist University. She is a former Teacher of the Year for Hagemann Elementary School and an Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award recipient.

"I’m incredibly excited to join the Bierbaum community and take on a leadership role where I can support students, staff and families in meaningful ways,” Mrs. Dooley said. “I look forward to building relationships and helping create a positive, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to grow and succeed."

Dooley will begin serving in her new role on July 1, 2025.

Tyson SigetteTyson Sigette
Director of Technology Services

Tyson Sigette has served as a cybersecurity specialist for the United States Coast Guard for the past three years. Prior to that he taught computer science and Project Lead the Way classes at Fox High School in the Fox School District. Sigette has also served in the United States Navy.

"We are excited to welcome Mr. Sigette as our new Director of Technology. His background in education and his expertise in cybersecurity make him an incredible asset to our district,” said Dr. Jeff Haug, Superintendent of Schools. “He is committed to ensuring the quality of Mehlville’s School District’s technology infrastructure and ensuring our students have safe, secure access to digital learning tools."

Sigette earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from North Georgia College, a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Liberty University.

“I am excited to leverage existing and emerging technology to support seamless and innovative learning experiences for our students and the entire school community while protecting their data and personal information,” Sigette said. “Additionally, I’m excited to work with and support the district’s talented Technology team.”

Sigette starts as Director of Technology on July 1, 2025. He replaces Paul Westbrook who is retiring at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
