Board approves the hiring of two assistant superintendents

Dr. Durham and Dr. LandherrThe Mehlville Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Julie Durham as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools and Dr. Jason Landherr as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

“Both Dr. Durham and Dr. Landherr are respected and proven leaders in Mehlville School District,” said Dr. Jeff Haug, Superintendent of Schools. “These leaders are committed to  student success and achievement. They each have positive, long-standing relationships within our community. I can’t wait to see them apply their leadership to the entirety of Mehlville School District.”

Dr. Julie DurhamDr. Julie Durham has served as
 theprincipal of Hagemann Elementary School for the past six years. She began her career in the Mehlville School District as a teacher at Wohlwend Elementary School in 2005 and was named the District Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year. The following year, she served as the assistant principal of Trautwein Elementary School and Wohlwend Elementary School before being hired to lead Hagemann in 2019.

Dr. Durham, a graduate of Mehlville High School, earned a Bachelor in Education from the University of Missouri, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University, a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Southwest Baptist University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.

“It is a privilege to support our dedicated educators, students and families as we continue to build on the academic growth our district has achieved,” Dr. Durham said. “ I look forward to partnering with our principals, teachers and staff to further enhance our elementary schools and ensure every student reaches their full potential.”

Dr. Durham will begin serving in her new role on July 1, 2025. She replaces Dr. Chad Dickemper, who will serve as Associate Superintendent for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Dr. Jason Landherr, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools
Dr. Jason LandherrDr. Jason Landherr has served as the principal of Mehlville High School for the past six years. He spent the first five years of his career in the Mehlville School District as a social studies teacher at MHS. He became an assistant principal at MHS in 2012 and served in that role until being named principal in 2019.

Dr. Landherr is an Oakville High School alum. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Saint Louis University, an Educational Specialist in Education Administration and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University.

“I am very excited for this new role and the opportunity to support all secondary students, staff and families,” Dr. Landherr said. “I have loved my 18 years at Mehlville High School and am committed to the continued success of the Mehlville School District. I look forward to learning more about each of our secondary school communities in the coming months.”

Dr. Landherr will begin serving in his new role on July 1, 2025. He replaces Dr. Jeff Bresler, who is retiring at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year.
