Facilities Steering CommitteeThe Mehlville School District is re-establishing the Facilities Steering Committee to support the ongoing update of our Strategic Plan and to seek valuable input from our community to improve our schools.

The Facilities Steering Committee is kicking off its work by surveying parents and staff at each school about facilities needs and desires. Those surveys were sent to parents and staff via ParentSquare.

The district is also asking for volunteers to serve on the Facilities Steering Committee. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please email Dr. John DeWalle at [email protected].

The Facilities Steering Committee last convened in January 2019. During that time, the committee helped identify safety and infrastructure priorities, many of which have been addressed through the passage of Prop S in April of 2021. This year, the committee will review completed projects, determine which remaining priorities still need attention, and help identify future facility improvements to best support our students.

Committee members will be asked to attend approximately six meetings over the next several months. The committee’s recommendations will be presented to the Mehlville School District Board of Education. The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, at 6:15 p.m. at Bierbaum Elementary School.
