Grow Your Own Scholarship helps alumni pursuing career in education

Grow Your Own ScholarshipApplications are now open for the MSDR9 Grow Your Own Scholarship for Future Educators, a scholarship for Mehlville School District alumni pursuing teaching as a career path. Applications are due Friday, January 17.

Mehlville High School  and Oakville High School alumni who graduated in the classes of 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023, currently enrolled in teacher preparation programs are eligible to apply for one of eight $1,000 scholarships. Awardees will also be guaranteed at least one interview for job openings in the Mehlville School District following graduation.

To apply, please submit: 
- Completed scholarship application
- Two letters of recommendation from non-family members
- Proof of enrollment in a college/university teacher preparation program

Applications submitted by the January 17 deadline will be reviewed by the district’s Recruitment, Retention and Onboarding Committee. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their selection by Friday, January 31, and scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to awardees.
