Fill Up the Pickup

The week of October 7-11, 2024, schools throughout Mehlville School District will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items. The efforts are part of Fill Up the Pickup, a grassroots food collection that started in Oakville during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the third Fill Up the Pickup food collection the district has participated in. Last February, the district collected almost 4,300 lbs. of food, or enough to provide 4,000 meals.

Members of the community are invited to participate. They can drop off canned goods and non-perishable items at any school during school hours from Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10.

All donations will go to Feed My People and Gateway Food Pantry. Both organizations serve families in need who live within our district boundaries.

The district will celebrate the efforts of the school communities to “fill up their pickups” before the Oakville vs. Mehlville football game at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11.
