Emma MuellerEmma Mueller, Oakville High senior, was selected to the 2018-2019 Student Board of Directors at the Federal Reserve Bank along with 17 other St. Louis high school seniors.

High school seniors from across the greater St. Louis area are selected based on a rigorous application process, which includes an essay and letters of recommendation. On the board, students gain a thorough understanding of the Federal Reserve's role in the U.S. economy and experience its unique partnerships with banks, businesses and the community.

Mary Suiter, assistant vice president and economic education officer at the St. Louis Fed, explained more about the board: "The students engage with employees of the Fed to learn about careers at the Fed and what the Fed does. Students develop soft skills that help prepare them for college and careers, and they serve as ambassadors for the Fed and economic education at their schools."
