A Market Value Asset (MVA) is an industry-recognized skill acquired during high school that facilitates a smoother transition to postsecondary education and/or the workplace. Students who graduate with an MVA are more likely to enroll in postsecondary training and successfully navigate the path to employment, making further education and a career more affordable and attainable.

Mehlville School District Business Partnership Narrative
The Mehlville School District is dedicated to equipping all students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary for personal goal achievement and lifelong contribution. This commitment is realized through a collaborative effort involving families, students, the district, and community partners, culminating in students earning an MVA.
Mehlville MVAs include:

Supervised Business/Marketing Experiences (SBE/SME) through DESE-approved CTE programs (long-term internships).

Attainment of Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) via curriculum and South Tech.

Internships and Entrepreneurial Experiences (EEs) through the St. Louis Center of Advanced Professional Studies (STLCAPS).

Early College programming with St. Louis Community College, offering industry certifications and concurrent enrollment for advanced degrees.

70 Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Credit, and Dual Enrollment courses are available district-wide.
Mehlville School District Student Experience Narrative
The Mehlville School District partners with the Special School District to offer students over 25 career and technical education (CTE) programs at South Technical High School, enabling them to earn IRCs, college credit, and participate in work-based learning (mentorships, internships, apprenticeships). South Tech students earn over 75% of all IRCs in the district.
STLCAPS offers an immersive experience in Global Business & Entrepreneurship, Engineering & Technology Development, and Medicine, Health Care & Bioscience. Students develop professionalism and durable skills through interaction with business partners who provide short/long-term internships and assist with client connect projects.
The district maintains dual credit and dual enrollment partnership agreements with 8 local and state colleges or universities, including the Early College Academy, for achieving an Associate's Degree concurrent with a high school diploma.
