  Curriculum

The Curriculum Department provides leadership in the development, review and revision of the Mehlville School District's early childhood through grade 12 curriculum. There exists an ongoing curriculum review process to ensure that the district's curriculum is aligned with the Missouri Show-Me Standards, Grade Level Expectations (GLEs), Course Level Expectations (CLEs) and Career and Technical Education course competencies at the state level. The curriculum department encourages teachers and administrators to stay current with the research on best-practice instructional strategies and to implement best practices in the classroom. Professional development for teachers is regularly provided across the subject areas. The curriculum department maintains an effective partnership with each of the district's schools to provide resources to support the common goal of all students reaching his or her potential. Curriculum embodies the art and science of teaching and addresses the question of "What do we want our students to know and be able to do?" for every grade level and every course.

Assessment

Statewide testing is important because it helps ensure all public school students, no matter where they go to school, receive a quality education. Mehlville School District students are regularly tested by the state to assess their progress as they move through elementary and middle school through the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). In high school, students are tested by End of Course exams to assess their proficiency of course competencies.
