The Mehlville School District values professional development for its faculty and is committed to providing systematic professional development for beginning and practicing teachers. Research shows that professional development has the largest impact on student achievement. One day each month of the school year, all schools will begin two hours later than their normal start time to allow for professional development for staff.
The schedule of Teacher Professional Development/Student Late Starts for the 2008-2009 school year is:

The YMCA School Age Child Care Program offers before and after-school care at the following schools:
Beasley Bierbaum
Blades Forder
Hagemann Oakville
Point Rogers
Trautwein Wohlwend
The program follows the Mehlville school year calendar. When these elementary schools have a Two Hour Late Start, the YMCA will offer before-school care, with registration open to any family who has a child (ages five to 12) currently enrolled in the school.
Care will begin at the normal school start time and would continue until the two hour late start ends and children begin their day. There is no pre-registration fee, but a fee of $14 per child is charged for each late start day attended. Each late start day will require a new registration into the YMCA program. Registration forms and payments should go directly to the YMCA School Age Child Care Staff at your school. Families in our School Age Child Care Program have first preference, with the other slots being filled on a first-come, first served basis.
Registration will end the Thursday before each scheduled late-start date or when all available spaces for care are filled. Please contact the YMCA School Age Child Care Office at 314.849.4668 if you have questions.
