Mehlville School District Sees Rise in College-Ready Students Last year, the Mehlville School District made as one of its goals to significantly increase the number of students taking the ACT, a standardized achievement test for college admissions. Since 2004, the number of students taking the ACT remained under 600 students. Because of the efforts to increase participation in this achievement test, the District has seen an increase in students who have taken the ACT, with 678 students completing the exam this year.

Wohlwend Elementary Announces New Interim Principal Wohlwend Elementary has announced their new interim principal, Dave Meschke. Meschke has been with the District for nine years, first at Point teaching third, fourth and sixth grades and most recently as the assistant principal at Trautwein for the 2007-2008 school year.

Mehlville Seeks Members for Two Communications Committees The Mehlville School District is launching two advisory committees to help improve District communications. Community members are encouraged to apply to be a part of these committees.

Mehlville School District Students Achieve on State Tests Based on the preliminary Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) scores, Mehlville School District students are performing well above the state standard in mathematics, with 65.7% of the students performing at the proficient or advanced level. In the area of communication arts, 59.7% were proficient or advanced. The performance targets for this year were 51% percent of students proficient or advanced in communication arts and 45% percent of students proficient or advanced in mathematics.

District Launches E-Newsletter The Mehlville School District is launching a new electronic newsletter to allow more frequent communications between the District and the community. The E-Messenger will be e-mailed twice a month to anyone who signs up for a free subscription.
